HI, I'M VIVECA
My name is Viveca Svensson (previously Fallenius).
I'm an international lawyer, legal designer, innovative thinker and yoga teacher. With a French law degree, a year of law studies in the UK, I worked as a lawyer in Brussels for nearly a decade, as a lobbyist, then as an antitrust enforcer at the European Commission and finally at a Swedish law firm. I soon began to yearn for more meaning and decided to take a gap year at Stanford Law School.
Free as a bird on campus, I naturally pivoted towards and felt the most fulfilled doing pro bono work, being creative with design thinking and diving deep into the criminal justice system. I studied design thinking at Stanford's leading d.school and worked on a legal design project for the California Department of Justice. I taught and mentored incarcerated youth at a juvenile detention center - my favourite hour of the week. Windhover, the beautiful meditation center, kept me grounded. Of course, I also explored the startup world and was inspired by the impact-driven leaders. It was all game-changing and opened up a new path in life for me.
After 16 years abroad, I moved back to Stockholm and started working as a tech lawyer at an innovative law firm.
Gradually, I redesigned my work and became a Legal Futurist, led design thinking workshops, facilitated diversity, helped guiding startups through the legalese and constantly developed the business using value-driven design thinking. I was on the right path.
As a side hustle and driven by my strong belief that gender equality is crucial for building a sustainable future, I started working pro bono as a Board Member of UN Women Sweden. And later in the Nomination Committee.
In parallell, I discovered yoga and got completely hooked. In 2018, I started my Yoga Teacher Training at Urban Om and I'm thrilled to share everything that yoga offers. I believe change starts from within and that yoga and meditation are amazing tools.
